The Symptoms of Perimenopause
You may be a bit young to worry about “menopause relief”, but you seem to have some of the symptoms. You’re not alone.
Many women in their late 30s and early 40s – too young, generally, for menopause – still experience symptoms of hormonal changes. These include hot flashes, night sweats, and occasional sleeplessness.
This is the stage of life known as perimenopause. Perimenopause literally means “around menopause”, and can loosely be defined as the ten to fifteen years before menopause begins. Women can begin perimenopause as early as 35, but the average age is 47.5, with the average length of perimenopause being four years. These are just averages though, and the fact is that the starting point and duration of this stage of life varies from woman to woman.
