Women seem to take one of two paths when perimenopause and menopause start. Perhaps you have done one these things. Either you go to your doctor and bring up menopause, or you avoid talking with your doc in fear that you will be nudged toward treatments you aren’t sure about. Perhaps you chose to rely solely on insights from your girlfriends or what you’ve read on the internet. The best advice is to work with your doctor.

Cassie had simply had enough. Just as she was spilling hot coffee down the front of her new white blouse on the way to a huge presentation, she felt the hot flash coming on. It was bad enough that she had dealt with night sweats the past few nights, but this was going to push her over the top. Wishing she was sitting on a desert island with a tall cool drink instead of heading into a stuffy boardroom with a disgruntled client was not going to change the fact that menopause was wreaking havoc with her life.
